About Katie Blecker

Katie came to yoga as a means of building deeper and more resonant relationships with herself and the world around her. Through consistent practice she discovered that yoga is a way to continually return home to herself and choose love, again and again. After experiencing how positively her practice impacted her daily life, Katie decided to pursue the path of teaching as a way to share the profound teachings of yoga with others and facilitate space for practitioners on their own individual paths of connection and discovery.Her relationship with yoga inspires a deep and resounding YES to life and an ongoing exploration of the interconnectedness of it all. Yoga is a way to facilitate lasting and sincere connection. To Katie, connection - with ourselves, each other, and our world - is truly the heart of it all.
Katie's signature teaching style is a blend of Hatha and Vinyasa yoga, with space held for students to explore embodied movement in their own intuitive ways. Her work is informed by her teachers' backgrounds in the Anusara, Iyengar, and Vinyasa traditions. She also teaches chair yoga as an accessible path to practicing asana, breathwork, and meditation, as well as Yoga Nidra. As Katie continues her studies, her influences continue to expand and evolve. Katie is passionate about holding space for students to develop sustainable practices, with a focus on self-love, resiliency, and introspection.
Katie is a 550 hour certified teacher with the Canadian Yoga Alliance (CYA-RYT 550). She received the majority of her training from the Vancouver School of Healing Arts (formerly the Vancouver School of Yoga).
